EL TEOREMA DEL MICO

What is the true nationality of Banksy? Why does Rosalía want a house with views of Montserrat’s mountain? Can public institutions be the stage to catch the most wanted drug dealer in the world? What is the real secret of the success of Els Minyons de Terrassa? What are we willing to do to reverse the aging of the population?

These are some of the questions outlined by El Teorema del Mico, the new mockumentary series to be premiered by TV3/Canal 33. This unusual genre places viewers outside their conventions, broadening their horizons of thought. The television series wishes to go beyond socially accepted moral limits to make us think about established values. El Teorema del Mico is a sociological experiment.

In turn, we live in a society constantly bombarded by information, not all of it true, and we still have few tools to discern what is true from what is fake news. If we can believe what this fictional documentary shows us, what can we “accept” as true?

The docu-fiction series is shot in some of the most emblematic places in Catalonia, such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau Güell, the Montserrat monastery or the historic building of the University of Barcelona. It also highlights great figures of Catalan culture such as the castellers; visible faces of the media outlook; and actors/actresses and singers from the Catalan scene. The program also aims to give voice and attract the youngest audience.

Journalistic rigor and mystery are the ingredients for this television product that will make us question everything.
