Moustafa Dawa is the extraordinary gravedigger from Lesbos, who gives immigrants who lost their lives a dignified resting place.
He travelled from Egypt to Lesbos to work as a translator, but was shocked by the large number of people dying trying to reach European shores. The cemeteries of the island were not prepared to receive that many bodies. Although Mustafa had never touched death bodies, he decided to dignify those people. Local authorities granted him a small plot to do the Islamic burials.
