OUSMAN.

21.000KM TO CHANGE IT ALL

When he was 12 years old, curiosity made him leave Ghana to reach “the paradise”. He survived by drinking his urine on the way through the Sahara desert. After sailing the sea in an irregular boat he found his best friend’s dead body. Now, Ousman Umar has decided to change the immigration history from Ghana, his home country.

When he arrived in Barcelona, he was adopted by a Catalan family. Twenty years later, he has turned out to be illiterate to have two degrees and an Esade Msc. Now, his dream is turning into reality: installing the internet in the eleven computer rooms that he has set up in the most rural areas of Ghana. Then his educational project NASCO Feeding Minds gives opportunities to the youngest to learn new technologies. This will prevent them from risking their lives trying to reach the “Land of the Whites”.
