FIVE DAYS TO BREAK WALLS

Cinc dies per trencar murs is a documentary that follows an artistic and therapeutic initiative led by Sant Joan de Déuinside Centre Penitenciari Brians 1. Over the course of one week, a group of inmates takes part in a dance workshop led by the company The Loopers, with the challenge of creating four choreographies that will culminate in a final performance inside the prison.

Throughout five intense days, the film captures rehearsals, initial resistance, and the participants’ gradual transformation. Dance becomes a tool for emotional expression, cohesion, and trust, opening spaces of vulnerability and connection within an environment defined by rigidity and control.

The documentary culminates in the final performance—an emotionally charged moment in which the inmates step beyond their condition as prisoners to become performers.

Cinc dies per trencar murs is a sensitive portrait of the power of art to inspire change and to symbolically break down inner walls.
